Personal Project

The sight of golden wattle flowering at the beginning of spring has always stirred something in me. Perhaps it is the rich yellow, or the fact that the tree becomes covered in tiny pom-poms. Maybe it's just because it signals the start of the warmer weather here in South Australia. Whatever it is, it excites and inspires me and I have done countless sketches and paintings of the native plant. In this case, a pattern was created and printed on beautiful muslin fabric. My mum and I then made a top that has become a wardrobe favourite. It's so bright and floral, I simply can't be sad wearing it!
